This homeowner in Leverett, MA gave us a call because the first floor of their home was sloping due to the crawl space support beams beginning to fail. Our crew installed one 8 foot supplemental beam directly beneath the main beam of the crawl space that was failing. Perpendicular to the supplemental beam, the crew then installed three of our SmartJacks. SmartJacks are strong beams made of galvanized steel that reinforce the structural integrity of a crawl space. They can even be adjusted over time to reverse the sloping that has already occurred in the floors of the home. This customer from Leverett, MA wanted to reverse the damage in his kitchen floor. It was sagging down near the center which alerted the concern. After calling our appointment center for a free estimate, our inspector visited the home to diagnose the issue and provide a solution.
The inspector measured the dimensions of the floor from the basement and spotted the wooden floor beam rotting.
