I have two projects in mind and I'd like to better understand the financial implications. First, on a few occasions water has seeped in beneath the basement door and I would like to make sure this doesn't happen again. I think this has more to do with regrading the lawn as opposed to sealing the basement. Second, we are considering finishing the basement (in which case we would probably seal the walls just to be sure of no leaks). It's semi-finished now with concrete floors and drywall (which would need replaced). If we went forward with finishing the basement, we would want to drop the floor 18" so that the ceiling is sufficiently high; we would also probably want to have window wells and a glass exterior sliding door to let more light in. We would like to better understand the cost implications of each of these projects.
