Encapsulating this Hopkinton, MA Crawl Space

Challenge

This homeowner in Hopkinton, MA gave us a call looking for a solution for their wet crawl space. They had previously had another company look at it and they laid a piece of thin plastic on the dirt floor and insulated it with fiberglass insulation, but over time the plastic had weathered and insulation had become very messy so they were looking for a more permanent solution. That's where we come in! Our inspector, Jake, went to take a look at the crawl space and found a solution that the homeowner could feel confident in. Crawl space encapsulation!

Solution

The 3 foot tall crawl space was no issue for our crew on installation day! Our foreman, Lucio, and his team started by removing what the previous company had done and any excess debris to ensure a seamless installation of our products. Then they laid the drainage matting over the dirt floor of the crawl space which will allow any water trying to get in to flow under the space rather than pooling in it. Next they insulated the space with our SilverGlo insulation, this will regulate temperature without the messy fiberglass. The crew then encapsulated the space with our CleanSpace vapor barrier to seal out moisture. Finally, they set up our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier in the crawl space to keep humidity in the air to a minimum. With our products in place, this homeowner can now have peace of mind when it comes to their crawl space.
