Finished Basement Waterproofing in Portsmouth, RI

Challenge

This homeowner in Portsmouth, RI had a finished basement that they needed to be waterproofed. One of our inspectors, Dave P, visited the home for the free estimate appointment and drew up a solution that would waterproof the basement and also leave it looking better than before! Since the crew would be waterproofing an already finished basement, there were some extra steps that had to be followed. This finished basement was carpeted and the homeowner really wanted the carpet to stay in tact. Also, since the lower part of the walls were going to be removed during the waterproofing process, they wanted an option for wall restoration to be done during this project instead of hiring another contractor after we were done. Dave's plan covered all of these bases so when installation day arrived, the homeowner was really excited for the crew to begin!

Solution

Carlos, one of our foremen, and his crew arrived on installation day ready to waterproof this finished basement. They started by carefully folding back the carpet in all of the areas where waterproofing work needed to be done and then demoed the walls. Once the lower half of the walls were gone the crew was able to install our WaterGuard drainage system along the entire perimeter of the basement floor. In one of the basement closets, they installed our TripleSafe Sump Pump system which will send all of the water that tries entering the basement out of the home through the discharge lines. They also installed our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to keep humidity in the basement low. After the WaterGuard and TripleSafe were in place, the crew carefully replaced the carpet. Where the lower half of the walls were removed, our crew installed our EverLast Wall Restoration System, which is a waterproof wall finishing product that works seamlessly with the other waterproofing products that were installed. The homeowner was so happy that we were able to completely waterproof their home without leaving them having to refinish their basement.
