Transforming this Basement & Crawl Space in Scituate, MA
Challenge
A home in Scituate, MA was on the market but before being sold it needed some waterproofing in both the basement and the crawl space. One of our inspectors, David, went to the home to assess both areas and drew up a solution for waterproofing in each. Since this was a larger basement, the real estate agent wanted to promote the option for living space in certain areas, so David took that into consideration when making his plan. There were two separate crawl spaces beneath the home as well, so David noted that clearly for the crew to make sure installation day would be nothing but smooth sailing.
Solution
On installation day, one of our foremen, Riley, and his crew arrived ready to transform the lower level of this home. In the basement, they first installed our CleanSpace wall system which directs water into the WaterGuard drainage system that the crew installed around the perimeter of the floor. They also installed our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to keep humidity low as well as our TripleSafe sump pump to send all of the collected water out of the basement. In the areas that the real estate agent suggested, the crew installed our Elite Plank Flooring which resembles wooden floor boards but it is made out of a material that is water and mold resistant. Elite Plank Flooring works seamlessly with our waterproofing products and also creates a thermal break so it isn't cold on bare feet.
In each crawl space, the crew first laid down our drainage matting and then fully encapsulated them to seal them off from being effected by the outdoor weather conditions. The home is ready to sell now that the basement and crawl space is completely waterproof. An added bonus is that if the new homeowners want to finish the basement to use as extra living space, they already have flooring!
