Repairing a Flooded Finished Basement in Cohasset, MA

Challenge

A homeowner in Cohasset, MA reached out to us after their finished basement completely flooded due to their sump pump failing during a heavy rainstorm. Our inspector, Rick, went to the home to take a look at the basement and drew up a solution to waterproof it. The homeowner wanted to refinish their basement once it was waterproof but they wanted to make sure that the products and materials used could be trusted going forward. Luckily they called us here at DryZone, and we only use the best products that are backed by science!

Solution

On installation day, our foreman, Tomas, and his crew got to work! The water damaged wooden floor boards were removed and the crew installed our WaterGuard drainage system around the entire perimeter of the basement floor to collect groundwater. They replaced the existing sump pump that had failed with our TripleSafe sump pump which takes the water collected by the drainage system and sends it out of the home through two discharge lines. To refinish the basement, our crew installed our Elite Plank Flooring which resembles a wooden floor but is made of material that is water and mold resistant. The crew also repaired the basement walls with our EverLast Wall Restoration system which is a moisture resistant half-wall system that gives the basement a finished look and protects it from water. The Elite Plank Flooring and EverLast Wall work seamlessly with our other waterproofing products in the basement so now the homeowner can feel confident that the space is in tip-top shape for the next storm!
