Basement Waterproofing Project in Cumberland, RI
Challenge
This homeowner in Cumberland, RI gave us a call because they wanted to have their basement finished but needed to ensure that it was completely waterproof before doing so. Our inspector, Trevor, went out to the home to take a look at the basement and drew up a plan to waterproof it. He noted in his solution that there were a lot of the home's utilities located in the basement, so it was very important that they were protected from water damage. The homeowner was really looking forward to installation day because they loved how the solution that Trevor drew up looked.
Solution
On installation day, our foreman, Melvin, and his crew started by installing our CleanSpace vapor barrier seamlessly along each wall to corral seepage into the WaterGuard drainage system which was installed along the floor's entire perimeter to collect groundwater. Our TrenchDrain grated basement drain was installed around the utilities to protect them by collecting any surface water, the TrenchDrain is connected to the WaterGuard. The crew also set up our SaniDry XP dehumidifier in the basement to control humidity year-round. The water collected in the drainage system and dehumidifier is channeled into the TripleSafe sump pump which then sends all of the water out of the basement through two discharge lines. Now the homeowner can have their basement finished with complete confidence!
