Finished Basement Waterproofing in Scituate, MA
Challenge
This homeowner in Scituate, MA gave us a call because their finished basement constantly felt very humid and was starting to have a musty smell. Since they utilize the space often, they wanted to make sure it was safe from water damage and comfortable to hang out in. One of our inspectors, Mike, went out to the home and took a look at the basement. He drew up a solution that would completely waterproof it and keep it dry going forward.
Solution
On installation day, our foreman, MJ, and his crew started by installing our CleanSpace vapor barrier seamlessly along the bottom half of each wall to corral seepage into the WaterGuard drainage system which was installed along the floor's entire perimeter to collect groundwater. They also set up our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier in the basement to control the humidity. The water collected in the drainage system and dehumidifier is channeled into the TripleSafe sump pump which sends it out of the basement through two discharge lines. The IceGuard discharge line system was set up outside of the home to prevent flooding if a discharge line clogs or freezes. Now the homeowner can enjoy their finished basement comfortably and worry-free!
