Egress Project in Pawtucket, RI
Challenge
Many towns, like Pawtucket, RI require forms of egress in basements that will be used as a livable space, so that the occupants have more than one exit if the main one is not safe to use. When this home was undergoing some renovations and wanted to add an egress, they called the DryZone team! Our inspector visited the home and took measurements and photos, gathering as much information as possible to make this project go smoothly. After consulting our engineer team and getting permits for the work, we were ready to install our RockWell Window Well.
Solution
Before the the window and well could be installed, our team needed to get a hole cut in the foundation for the window to fit in! After excavating the soil outside and installing the window in the cut space, our team was ready to get the RockWell Window Well in place. The well is one piece, so easy install and won't allow water to leak through or collapse from the pressure of the backfill. It's UV stable, as well as rot and rust proof, so this egress will stay in great shape for a long time! Since we are cutting a hole in the foundation and the owners are planning on making this space a finished room, we install our waterproofing team consisting of WaterGuard, CleanSpace Wall and a TripleSafe sump pump! Though the window and well are installed securely, this assures that the homeowners won't have any water issues down the line in that area!
