Basement with Radon in North Scituate, RI
Challenge
In North Scituate, RI, the owner of this home was dealing with water seepage in their unfinished basement and knew they needed a sump pump to solve the problem. After observing it for some time, they were able to discuss with the inspector that went out for the free estimate that the water was coming in through the basement entryway. They also discussed the extra hurdle of having radon in their basement. Luckily for them, we knew exactly what needed to be done and radon is no problem, as many of our products have modifications that work with basements like theirs!
Solution
To solve the water problem, the team installed a TripleSafe sump pump system and grated drain along the doorway. With radon, the grated drain was our TrenchDrain with our TrenchLock. TrenchLock is a tray added in the TrenchDrain that contains an airtight cup and floating ball that lets water flow down, but air cannot come back up. With all our sump pumps, we use closed lid systems, so the top is sealed to prevent air from under the floor from escaping into the basement. All these components work effortlessly in basements with radon, so the “hurdle” was no problem!
