Humidity and Moisture Control in Charlestown, RI
Challenge
In Charlestown, RI, this basement had a sump pump but was still getting water seepage, so the homeowners weren’t sure if it was working! They also had complaints about the high humidity in the basement, making this space an area for improvement. They reached out to the DryZone team, and we worked with them to devise a plan to upgrade their system and keep the basement dry!
Solution
During the install, our crew replaced their old sump system with our SuperSump Plus system with an UltraSump, which is our battery backup powered pump. This system will allow the basement to stay protected even if power to the home is lost! At the bulkhead entryway to the basement, TrenchDrain was added to collect any seeping water from that area and is connected to our WaterGuard piping around the basement that will direct the water into the sump pump for removal. To protect against humidity, the crew added a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, also the CleanSpace Wall vapor barrier will help reduce the overall moisture of the basement, directing any wall seepage into the WaterGuard below.
