Basement Waterproofing on Martha's Vineyard
Challenge
The owner of this home in Chilmark, MA, on Martha’s Vineyard, was concerned about the moisture in their basement and didn’t want to risk mold growth, so they did some research and found that DryZone Basement Systems offers free estimates on the island! Our inspector took a look at the area of concern and went over the recommendations to address their worries. With our solution, we would be able to reduce the moisture and help stop any mold growth in the space!
Solution
During the install, the crew got to work, installing our WaterGuard piping and TripleSafe sump pump system. The WaterGuard will collect any groundwater seepage at the footing of the foundation and then carry it to the sump pump for removal. The TripleSafe system includes a battery powered backup pump, which is essential for most basements but especially those on an island that can be more vulnerable to storms and power loss. A SaniDry XP dehumidifier works great to absorb moisture for the air, reducing humidity that can cause that mold growth. Finally, to finish the space, ThermalDry Basement Floor Matting was added for a thermal break from the cold concrete floor. ThermalDry Matting can also be used as a subfloor for installing carpet, making it versatile to your wants and needs!
