The customer's crawl space needed some attention. He did not want to live with draft floors and a humid and musty crawl space. We were able to help. 

Cinder block walls are made of porous concrete. This lets moisture seep in and makes your crawlspace constantly damp. 60% of the air in your home is coming from below grade so our suggestion is to encapsulate to seal the earth from your home and use spray foam to air seal the rim joists.

A vapor barrier that does not attach to anything cannot properly keep moisture out. We came into this West Yarmouth property and removed all debris from the floor joists as well as on the ground and fully encapsulated the area with CleanSpace

The primitive sump pump liner that was used in this West Yarmouth crawlspace was made of a five gallon bucket with holes drilled in the sides. This is a common set up that our inspectors see every day. This does nothing for the moisture in the crawlspace. We upgraded the system to a TripleSafe sump pump with a closed lid. 

Windows in a crawlspace allows outside, unconditioned air into the home. This is part of the reason homes have mold or are difficult to heat in the winter and cool in the summer. The windows in this West Yarmouth, MA crawlspace have been sealed to prevent outside air from getting in.
