This homeowner in Little Compton, RI called DryZone looking for some help with her crawl space. She had installed spray foam to the ceiling in hopes that it would keep moisture from getting onto the floors of her home and harming the structural integrity of the house. After spending that time and money on spraying, she found that the moisture was still a problem. Our inspector checked out the space and sure enough, condensation buildup on the spray foam. One jump from someone upstairs and it would seemingly start raining!
While the foam could work as a barrier between the crawlspace and the above floor, it would not stop moisture from penetrating the structural components of the home, like support beams. With the installation of the CleanSpace vapor barrier, moisture would be stopped before making its way into the crawl space. Along with the barrier, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier will work to extract that moisture from the air, making this a much drier, climate-controlled, crawl space.
