Crawl Space Transformation in Narragansett, RI
Challenge
This homeowner in Narragansett, RI gave us a call looking to have a vapor barrier installed in their crawl space as it was having issues with excessive moisture that was also causing the wooden supports in the space to weaken. Our inspector, Andy, went to the home to take a look at the crawl space and drew up a solution that would not only handle the moisture issues, but also reinforce support.
Solution
On installation day, our foreman, Kervin, and his crew first removed all the debris from the crawl space, including the old fiberglass insulation that was making a mess in the space. The crew then reinsulated the space with our SilverGlo wall insulation, which is much better at regulating temperature and doesn't deteriorate like the fiberglass insulation did. Then they fully encapsulated the crawl space with our CleanSpace vapor barrier and installed our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to keep humidity low. To add support, the crew installed our SmartJack Stabilizers throughout the crawl space. SmartJacks are made of galvanized steel and can be adjusted to reverse the settlement that has already occurred. Now the homeowner no longer has to worry about the conditions of the space beneath their home!
