Upton, MA Crawl Space Repair
Challenge
This homeowner in Upton, MA gave us a call because the moisture issues in their crawl space were starting to lead to mold growth. The crawl space was also insulated with fiberglass that was starting to deteriorate and cause a mess in the space, which was not helping the moisture issues at all. One of our inspectors, Nick, went out to the home to assess the crawl space and drew up a solution that would handle every issue he found. His plan included cleaning the mold, as well as reinsulating, encapsulating, and dehumidifying the space.
Solution
On installation day, one of our foremen, MJ, and his crew showed up ready to repair this crawl space! The crew first removed the old fiberglass insulation and then sprayed Mold-X2 spray to clean and prevent mold going forward. Then they laid down drainage matting over the dirt floor of the crawl space to allow any water to flow under and out instead of pooling inside. They reinsulated the space with our TerraBlock floor insulation and SilverGlo wall insulation, which both regulate temperature much more efficiently than fiberglass and they don't deteriorate over time. The crew then fully encapsulated the crawl space with our CleanSpace vapor barrier. They lastly installed our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to keep the moisture in the air controlled. Now the homeowner no longer has to worry about moisture effecting their crawl space!
