Crawl Space Transformation in South Boston, MA

Challenge

A property manager in South Boston, MA reached out to us because the crawl space beneath the building had a musty smell and was in need of insulation as well as full encapsulation. Our inspector, Trevor, went out to the property to take a look at the space and drew up a solution for it. The dirt floor of the crawl space had a couple of large boulders that wouldn't be possible to remove, so our crew would have to carefully work around them while still ensuring the crawl space would be properly encapsulated. Trevor took note of this in his plan to set our crew up for success on installation day.

Solution

Foreman MJ and his crew arrived on installation day ready to transform this crawl space! They first removed all the debris they could from the space and then they laid our drainage matting over the dirt floor to allow any water to flow under and out rather than pool inside. They insulated the space with our SilverGlo wall insulation to regulate temperature and then the crew was able to fully encapsulate the crawl space with our CleanSpace vapor barrier. They carefully worked around the boulders and added spray foam where needed to ensure the space was completely sealed. Lastly, the crew installed our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to keep humidity low and eliminate the musty odor. Now the building's crawl space is in great shape!
