Waterproofing and Encapsulating a Scituate, MA Crawl Space
Challenge
This homeowner in Scituate, MA gave us a call because the crawl space beneath their home was occasionally taking on water, constantly damp, and had a mildew smell. Since it had a dirt floor with wooden beams, mold was also starting to become an issue. Our inspector, Rick, went out to the home to assess the crawl space and he drew up a well rounded solution for it. He made sure to note that the crawl space entrance was relatively small and only accessible from inside of the home, so our crew would be ready for that on installation day.
Solution
On installation day, our foreman, Kervin, and his crew arrived at the home ready to transform the crawl space! They sprayed our Mold-X2 spray to clean and prevent mold in the space going forward. The crew regraded the soil and installed our StarPipe drainage system around the perimeter of the crawl space floor to collect groundwater and send it into our TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe sends the water out of the crawl space through two discharge lines. They insulated the space with our SilverGlo wall insulation and TerraBlock floor insulation to regulate temperature and they won't deteriorate over time. The crew then fully encapsulated the crawl space with our CleanSpace vapor barrier to completely seal it off. Now the homeowner no longer has to worry about water effecting the crawl space beneath their home!
