Crawl Space Solutions in Worcester, MA
Challenge
This homeowner in Worcester, MA met our inspector, Andy, at our recent home show event where they told him about the issues they were having with the crawl space beneath their home. Shortly after the home show, Andy went out to their home and did a full assessment of the crawl space. It had old fiberglass insulation that was falling into the space and causing a mess. It also had a dirt floor that occasionally became very damp depending on the weather, so the homeowner was interested in having the space fully encapsulated as well. Andy drew up a solution that would address every concern about the space and put the homeowner's mind at ease.
Solution
On installation day, our foreman, MJ, and his crew got to work! They removed all the debris from the space, which included the old fiberglass insulation that was no longer effective. Then they laid down drainage matting over the dirt floor of the crawl space to allow any water to flow under and out instead of get stuck inside. They reinsulated the space with our SilverGlo wall insulation and TerraBlock floor insulation, both efficiently regulate temperature and won't deteriorate over time like the fiberglass. The crew also fully encapsulated the crawl space with our CleanSpace vapor barrier to seal it off. Now the homeowner can have peace of mind when it comes to their home's crawl space!
