Cape Cod Humid Crawl Space Project
Challenge
This cottage on Cape Cod had a crawl space that was humid and smelly in the summer, but freezing cold in the winter! With the owners constantly concerned about mold and rot or freezing pipes, they could never stop worrying about the cottage whenever they weren't there! Even though there was a plastic liner down and a dehumidifier, they still had to monitor the moisture levels and temperature of the crawlspace, they were not regulating the temperature or moisture in the crawl space.
Solution
Our Inspector Josh showed up at the property for his appointment and got into that humid and dirty crawl space, into every corner! The solution was a no brainer, CleanSpace vapor barrier to separate the moist ground from the underbelly of the home. SilverGlo insulation to help regulate the temperature in the crawl space during the summer and winter, no more stressing about freezing pipes! Finally, a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to capture any moisture from the air in the space. All of these components together create a dry and healthy crawl space, which in turns makes your home more healthy too!
