Damp Crawl Space in Wakefield, RI
Challenge
When this homeowner in Wakefield, RI noticed an issue with a drain pipe and went in the crawl space to investigate, they found the source of the leak, but also a musty, damp crawl space with evidence of rot! While they were happy they found the source of one problem, they now had another one their hands! Our inspector also saw a moist crawl space but also a solution! While crawling around, he took measurements and photos to help him create a perfect plan to transform this crawl space.
Solution
First step is to remove the existing old liner that isn't doing much of anything to help this crawl space. Once that is gone and the team has a clean slate to work with, we can add our drainage matting and CleanSpace vapor barrier. The Drainage Matting helps allow for crawl space drainage and gives a thermal break between the cold earth and the indoor air. The CleanSpace vapor barrier on top helps separate the moist ground from the rest of the home, reducing humidity and odors. Add a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to absorb any water vapors and now this crawl space is clean, dry and fresh!
