Reinsulating a Crawl Space in Ashland, MA

This homeowner in Ashland, MA gave us a call because the crawl space beneath their home was creating a cold environment for the living space above. It was previously insulated with fiberglass but over time it had fallen onto the floor of the space and created a mess. Our inspector, Steve, went out to the home and drew up a solution for the crawl space. On installation day, our foreman, Tomas, and his crew first removed any debris and old insulation from the space and then laid down drainage matting over the dirt floor to allow any water to flow under and out rather than pool inside. Then they reinsulated the space with our SilverGlo wall insulation which regulates temperature and doesn't deteriorate over time like the fiberglass did. The crew then fully encapsulated the crawl space to seal it off from the outside earth. Now the homeowner doesn't have to worry abut their crawl space and they'll notice a much more comfortable living space.
