Crawl Space Repair Before & After Photos

A homeowner from New Bedford, MA wanted to maintain his crawlspace, but it was in rough condition. The insulation was falling apart and it felt damp down there. When our inspector visited the homeowner to determine what should be done, CleanSpace vapor barrier was the conclusion. The crew got rid of all the old and moldy debris, replaced it with SilverGlo wall insulation and encapsulated the whole space with CleanSpace. This provides a reliable, thick layer of plastic polyethylene to keep moisture out. 

This basement in downtown New Bedford, MA was built in the 1800's. The stone foundation has been deteriorating for years creating a nightmare for the homeowners when it rained. The solution would be to install a vapor barrier that can be tucked into the flange of their sub floor drainage system. The Cleanspace wall is a 20mil pastic vapor barrier that would trap anything dripping down the walls and redirect it to the WaterGuard which will carry it to the sump.

One of our inspectors, Trevor, was happy to draw up a solution to rid the space of the musty smell. On installation day, foreman Carlos and his crew showed up ready to encapsulate the crawl space. They started by removing any debris that wasn't needed in the space and then laid down the drainage matting over the dirt floor. Along the crawl space walls, the crew installed our SilverGlo insulation which is very effective in regulating the crawl space's temperature. With the drainage matting and SilverGlo in place, the crew was then ready to encapsulate with our CleanSpace vapor barrier. The CleanSpace Crawl Space Encapsulation System seals off the space from being negatively impacted by water and other outside factors. Finally, the crew set up our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier in the space to keep humidity low. With the crawl space encapsulated and SaniDry Sedona running, the space no longer has that musty smell and the rest of the house is happier and healthier for it!
