Apartment Building Foundation Repair in Worcester, MA
Challenge
The landlord of an apartment building in Worcester, MA gave us a call because the four story house they own was starting to have settlement issues. Our sales inspector, Benny, went out to the property and assessed the building's foundation issues. Benny found that the stairwell on the side of the building was also starting to pull away from the building and it was only supported by lally columns that were starting to deteriorate due to being exposed to the outdoor weather. Benny drew up a solution to reinforce the building's support system that would be much better suited for outdoor use.
Solution
On installation day, our production foreman, Kervin, and his crew installed our SmartJack Stabilizing System to restore the apartment building's foundation. SmartJacks are made of galvanized steel that doesn't deteriorate over time, they are much stronger and better suited for outdoor exposure than standard lally columns. SmartJacks can even be adjusted to lift the foundation and reverse the settlement that has already occurred. With SmartJacks now supporting the building and the stairway, the landlord and the tenants no longer have to worry about structural issues!
