Bowing Wall Project on Block Island
Challenge
The manager of this commercial property on Block Island in Rhode Island called looking high and low for someone to help them with their foundation wall concerns, it's hard to find specialized companies when you live on an island. Lucky for them, we go to Block Island and were more than happy to send one of our inspectors out to take a look at the property. Our inspector found the concern, the back wall was bowing in, definitely a big concern but nothing DryZone can't help solve!
Solution
Our production crew took a ferry trip to Block Island to help stabilize this property! The installation process consisted of adding PowerBraces to the bowing walls. PowerBraces are zinc-plated steel beams that tightly secure against the wall and are anchored above and below the wall. The beams can also be tightened over time, not just permanently stabilizing the wall, but also potentially reversing the effects of wall failure! With these braces installed all along the failing wall, the property manager can feel confident that the wall is secure and the structural integrity is safe!
