Bowing Foundation in Norton, MA
Challenge
The owners of this Norton, MA home reached out to DryZone Basement Systems with concerns of their cinderblock wall bowing. A bowing foundation wall occurs when the soil and water outside of the foundation applies pressure to the wall, causing the wall to lean in to the negative space of the basement. Our team was able to send an inspector out to observe and take measurements of the wall to devise the best solution!
Solution
The solution was to install our GeoLock Wall Anchors! The GeoLock anchors are heavy-duty steel anchors that are embedded in the stable soil away from the foundation wall and connected to steel plates with galvanized steel rods. Once the components are installed and connected, they are tightened to secure the bowing wall in place and can continue to be tightened over time to potentially straighten the wall over time. Now the homeowners have one less worry!
