Steve has been with DryZone Basement Systems from day 1! Starting in the production department, he was our lead foreman for over ten years. The amount of experience he has is unsurpassed by many within our Contracor Nation network. He was one of the most experienced basement waterproofing foremen across the United States and Canada.
After ten years of installing, Steve took on the role of system design specialist. His knowledge of the installation techniques give him a unique and helpful edge when meeting with homeowners that want to take the first step to keeping their basements dry. Steve's knowledge also comes in handy when some of our other inspectors come across a tricky situation. He is a great team player and an asset to the team throughout every department.
In his spare time, Steve enjoys spending time with his family. His wife Gina, his son Steve, daughter Miranda and granddaughter Kendal have become part of the DryZone family over the years.
Patrick Cahill, our system design specialist proposed a full waterproofing system to keep this customer's basement dry. The customer in Westerly also used us to waterproof his second property nearby.
In Westerly, RI the basement of this condo was dealing with a large wall crack that was letting water seep onto the floor. For this crack we used our Flexispan system to seal the crack and prevent further leakages. The process includes cleaning out the crack and adding two layers of sealant, one that goes inside the crack one that creates a drainage channel over the crack. With the channel there, any water that could leak after the repair will get caught and stay off the basement floor. Then we put a layer of CleanSpace over the whole system for another layer of protection.
This crawlspace had a makeshift vapor barrier that was not helping with the moisture problem at all, it was only a band-aid. This Narragansett home is right on the water so the musty, earthy smell in the crawl space was too much for this homeowner to handle. We installed an all new vapor barrier to fully encapsulate the space and get rid of the smell and moisture. We were happy to help and make this home more comfortable to live in!
The air in the crawlspace affects the air quality in your entire home. This home owner in Conventry, RI was having a hard time breathing and her long time friend and contractor recommended she have the crawlspace checked out by DryZone Basement Systems.
The 20 mil vapor barrier we use is called CleanSpace. We wrap all of the concrete in the crawlspace with it to prevent moisture from evaporating through the porous walls
In East Greenwich, RI, this basement was getting groundwater coming through onto the floor, and it was even worse after heavy rains. The owners were looking for the next step towards getting this space dry and protected from future water and rains. Our crew was able to easily install Waterguard around the basement and tie it into a TripleSafe sump pump. When the water would seep into the basement, the system will pick it up and drain through and then to the pump for removal.
These homeowners in Jamestown wanted to eliminate their basements water issues once and for all. This view from the stairs shows the WaterGuard along the seam where the floor and wall meet. This product keeps basements dry and allows for finishing in the future.
When Linda reached out to DryZone to finish her basement we were amazed had how damp her basement was! Her system design specialist had to let her know that she needed to waterproof first. Now with a SuperSump, WaterGuard and CleanSpace Wall, we are ready to get in there and finish her basement!
We line the floor under oil tanks with CleanSpace for added protection. There is also a trench drain that goes around the entire tank. While this isn't the reason we were initially called to this Cranston home, it is an added peace of mind that DryZone provides.
The customer in Greenville, Rhode Island was looking to encapsulate their crawl space. The home had a dirt crawl space with high humidity. DryZone Basement Systems was happy to help! Shortly after reaching out to us we were able to repair the crawl space and add a vapor barrier and dehumidification system.
During heavy rains, water seeped into the basement through the fieldsone foundation. The customer needed a vapor barrier and waterproofing system to keep her basement dry all the time.
This basement/crawlspace combination in Little Compton, RI needed some waterproofing and insulating. Along with our TripleSafe sump pump and two SaniDry Dehumidifiers, two SmartDrain leak alarm systems, as well as the CleanSpace vapor barrier, was put up around the whole space to keep moisture out and prevent mold from growing. Then, while considering convenience, we use long corded remote alarms so that they could be placed at the beginning of the crawl space and the homeowner can easily turn them off once they hear the alarm and identify the leak.
DryZone installed SilverGlo insulation in this customer's Cumberland, RI home. SilverGlo is a 2" foam insulation board that is infused with graphite to reflect heat and lower conductivity. It is also a radiant barrier so it will reflect heat back into the basement, saving on energy costs!
Some areas are more tricky to waterproof than others but we just have to get creative! We did just that in this Cumberland, RI basement.
CleanSpace Wall is a vapor barrier that gets tucked into the WaterGuard system. It directs any water from the walls into the drainage system. This Cumberland, RI basement has it going around the entire perimeter.

We installed our most efficient sump pump, the TripleSafe, in this Cumberland, RI basement.
Your typical crawlspace is filled with debris, dirt, falling and wet insulation and that was no different for this Warren, RI home. There was even cardboard covering the ground that was wet to the touch (and visibly wet). We came in and removed all debris, added spray foam to the rim joists to stop air flow, and added a few SmartDrains to warn the homeowner of a plumbing leak. We treated the joists with our Mold-X2 cleaner/ neutralizer and finally installed our drainage matting and CleanSpace vapor barrier.
Collin in Tiverton, RI had a little bit of water in his basement after it rained. There was no standing water but he rented this home out and the tenants used the area for storage. We came in to install a full perimeter system. The oil tank needed protection as well. The WaterGuard goes around the system and CleanSpace is installed on the floors to prevent damage in case of an oil spill.
This landlord in Tiverton, RI contacted DryZone after working with another Basement Systems, Inc. dealer to handle this rental property.
The homeowner in Hopedale Massachusetts was interested in a vapor barrier and insulation in his crawl space. The rest of the home felt damp and humid in the summer months and drafty and cool in the winter months. The solution was CleanSpace by Basement Systems. Our DryZone crew was able to install a successful vapor barrier system which will prevent mold and moisture in the property. The crew has even covered the giant ROCK in the crawlspace! They don't miss a beat.
This home in Fall River, MA needed a waterproofing solution for their basement and gave DryZone a call, and what a good call that was! We were able to check out the space and devise a plan that would whisk any water that made its way into the basement, out! Our Waterguard was installed around the perimeter of the basement to accompany the SuperSump sump pump. With this Waterguard drainage system, it will collect water that seeps in and the water will then flow through the system to the pump liner where the pump inside will push it out of the basement. What a great solution for this family!
The customer in Somersert, Massachusetts was looking for a permanent solution for their home. After hearing about DryZone Basement Systems through a friend they had a system design specialist out to their property to come up with a solution to keep their basement dry for years to come. One problem area was at the bottom of their stair well from the back door, usually gathering a puddle. The installation team installed a french drain system to solve this problem.
These clients in North Attleboro had an apparent mold issue so they called us to come up with a solution to the problem. We used our new Mold-X2 Product which we applied in a 2 step application that removes mold. The homeowners were thrilled with the results!
When one of our inspectors met with this homeowner in Attleboro, MA, he saw and discussed with them the flooding concerns they were having and how they could fix those issues. They discussed their old sump and the possible new options, then once we mentioned a Triplesafe they knew it would be right for them, since it has the battery backup they could rely on in case power went out in their home and that peace of mind knowing their sump would still be working hard for them. Now the water that ended up in the sump system would get pushed out with or without power, so storms were no longer a stress on them and their basement.
This crawlspace in Medway, MA started with fiberglass insulation that was damp and falling from the floor joists. We came in and removed that debris and installed our CleanSpace vapor barrier with a SaniDry dehumidifier. The transformation is amazing and now this home has a dry crawlspace!
Fiberglass insulation absorbs water and moisture from the air like a sponge. We removed that nasty insulation from this Medway home and made the crawlspace a dry environment.
This basement in North Dighton, MA really needed our help and we were more than willing to lend a hand. The owner had noticed multiple spots that water was seeping into her basement and one of those being the doorway, which is a common spot for most basements. With doorways we can install our TrenchDrain drainage system that works the same as the Waterguard system but has a grate over the top so it can be placed in other places besides along the wall. With the TrenchDrain in place, any water that comes in under the door will be caught before it can get onto the basement floor and cause unwanted problems!
This basement was once wet and moist and the owners did not feel secure storing their personal items in the area. After reaching out to Dry Zone for a free estimate, the installation crew installed a waterproofing system and a wall system that the homeowners were so happy with!
The waterproofing system this basement in Foxboro, MA had was just barely getting the job done, and barely is certainly not enough when it came to their home and belongings! With one easy call to DryZone, they started the motion to a dryer basement and met with one of our Design Specialist to help create a plan. One product was definitely going to be an upgraded sump pump system, complete with three pumps, including one that ran off of a battery in case of emergency power outages. With the new TripleSafe sump pump installed, these homeowners already knew they had made the right decision giving us a call!
